Notification No.01/Admissions into sports school/2025, Dt: 29.05.2025:

1.The applications are invited from the eligible candidates for admission into 4th & 5th Classes in Dr. YSR Sports School, Kadapa for the academic year 2025-26.

2.The application form along with eligibility criteria are available at https://apsportsschool.ap.gov.in/.

4. Eligibility Criteria:

a) For Class IV:

1. Age Limit: Candidates must be between 8 and 10 years old (Should be born between 01.04.2015 – 31.03.2017) for class IV.
2. Educational qualification: The candidate must have continuation of study from 1st to 3rd Class and passed academic year in a Government or Government-recognized school and should have been promoted to 4th Class.
3. Age Proof Certificate: Birth Certificate of the candidate issued by Registrar of Births & Deaths or Municipal Corporations or Any other prescribed authority under the registration of births and deaths act 1969 that must be computer generated Form 5 and verifiable through the QR Code. The certificate must be issued within one year of the actual date of birth, then only be eligible.

b) For Class V:

1. Age Limit: Candidates must be between 9 and 11 years old (Should be born between 01.04.2014 – 31.03.2016) for class V.
2. Educational qualification: The candidate must have continuation of study from 1st to 4th Class and passed academic year in a Government or Government-recognized school and should have been promoted to 5th Class.
3. Age Proof Certificate: Birth Certificate of the candidate issued by Registrar of Births & Deaths or Municipal Corporations or Any other prescribed authority under the registration of births and deaths act 1969 that must be computer generated Form 5 and verifiable through the QR Code. The certificate must be issued within one year of the actual date of birth, then only be eligible.

5. Selection Process:

a) Online Application Submission: Eligible students must submit their applications online through: https://apsportsschool.ap.gov.in/.

b) Scrutiny of Applications and Documents: A committee will verify all online applications and the uploaded documents to ensure eligibility.

The Scrutiny Committee consists of:

1. The Special Officer, Dr. YSRSS, Kadapa
2. One representative from SAAP
3. High Performance Manager, KISCE, Dr. YSRSS, Kadapa
4. One Coach from Dr. YSRSS, Kadapa
5. One Teacher from Dr. YSRSS, Kadapa

The computer automatically scrutinizes the online applications and documents to ensure eligibility. After scrutiny, provisionally eligible applications will be forwarded to the concerned District Sports Development Officer (DSDO).

c) District Level Selection Trials:

i) The DSDO will schedule document verification and District Level selection Trials and notify candidates.

ii) Verification Process:

1. Candidates must present original documents during verification, if failed, candidature may be rejected.
2. Only candidates whose information matches their application and satisfies the requirements will proceed to the Preliminary Medical Examination. (list of preliminary medical examinations are mentioned at Annexure – B).
3. Candidates who pass the preliminary medical examination and document verification will participate in the motor ability tests.
4. The DSDO will update the eligibility of medical conditions and marks secured in the selection trials of all candidates online on the same day.
5. The committee under the chairmanship of District Collector/ Joint Collector will submit the report consisting of document verification, medical examination and marks secured by the candidates through online.

d) State Level Selection Trials:

i) Candidates score the minimum passing marks (50%) or as decided by the authority will be invited to the State Level Selection Trials. ii) Candidates will undergo a medical examination at state level also to assess fitness and detect any major abnormalities. (list of medical examinations are mentioned at Annexure – C).

iii) Medically eligible candidates are only allowed to participate in the motor ability tests.

iv) The In-Charge Officer for state level selection trials will update candidates’ marks online on the same day.

6. Final Selection Criteria:

i) Candidates will be selected based on merit only.

ii) Tie-breaker criteria:

1. Younger candidates will be given priority.
2. If the age is the same, candidates with greater height will be given priority.

iii) Candidates with any discrepancies in their age found by the selection committee may be sent for medical age examinations as per SAI norms, if necessary.

7. Checking Application Status:

Candidates can track their application status from time to time using Application ID / Aadhar Number / Mobile Number on the official website.

8. Admission Confirmation:

1. A minimum of 60% marks in physical motor ability tests will be considered for admission on a merit basis only.
2. The Committee under the chairmanship of Chairman/VC&MD, SAAP will forward the list of eligible candidates.
3. Then the Special Officer, Dr. YSRSS, Kadapa, will send Call Letters to the selected candidates for admission.

9. Motor Ability Tests to be conducted at District & State Level:

1. 30m Flying Start – Test Linear Speed.
2. Standing Broad Jump – Test Horizontal Force.
3. 1 kg Medicine Ball Throw – Test Shoulder strength.
4. 6 x 10m Shuttle Run – Test Pro Agility.
5. Forward bend and reach – Test Flexibility
6. 600m Run – Test Endurance.

10. Procedure of Anthropometric Measurements and Motor Ability Tests as shown in Annexure – D.

11. Other Instructions to Candidates/Parents/Guardians:

1. A fitness certificate, issued by a government medical practitioner one week prior schedule for allowing to district-level selection trials.
2. Candidature will be assessed solely on the basis of information provided online, subject to physical verification and motor ability tests.
3. Any mismatch between submitted information and original documents will result in disqualification.
4. Only candidates meeting the prescribed age and performance criteria will be allowed to participate in the selection trials.
5. Candidate or parent/guardian of candidate must upload candidate’s own recent passport-size photograph as per the requirement of online application.
6. A valid mobile number of parent/ guardian of the candidate is mandatory. All communication will be sent to this number.
7. Candidate’s parent/guardian are solely responsible for the accuracy of the details provided in the application.
8. Upon successful submission, a registration number will be generated. Candidates must retain this for future reference.
9. Candidates/Parents/Guardians must must take a printout of the completed application form and keep a copy for their records.
10. Do not send physical copies of the application to SAAP.
11. Apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
12. Any attempt to influence or canvass will lead to immediate disqualification.
13. SAAP has not authorized any agents or intermediaries. Do not fall prey to touts or individuals offering selection through unethical means.
14. Refer only to the official SAAP website for updates. Do not trust unverified sources.
15. Candidates must report at the venue as per the schedule with original documents as and when called for selection trials at district level/ state level.
16. Candidates must wear appropriate sports attire (T-shirt, shorts/track pants, and sports shoes) suitable for selection trials.
17. Maintain discipline throughout the selection process.
18. Parents/guardians are not allowed on the field during selection trials to ensure smooth conduct.
19. The decision of the Government/SAAP will be final and binding.
20. SAAP reserves the right to amend or modify terms and conditions at any stage of the selection process, with due notice to all concerned.
21. Candidates/Parents/Guardians must submit a declaration confirming the truthfulness of all information and documents submitted. Any false claims may lead to disciplinary or legal action.
22. Submission of forged or inaccurate information will result in criminal prosecution, and the application will be rejected or selection cancelled.

ACADEMIC SYLLABUS AND MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:

A.P. State Government syllabus is followed and the medium of instruction is English.

FEE :

No fee will be collected either for admission to the school or for tuition. The students will be provided with free Boarding, Lodging etc.,

Admission into Sports School does automatically entitle for accommodation in the Hostels.
