ADMISSION NOTIFICATION

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates who passed SSC Examination or any other Examination recognized as equivalent for admission into Diploma in Fisheries (DFS) for the academic year 2025-26. Online registration process will commence from 30-05-2025. Last date for submission of online application is 20-06-2025.   3. Pydah College of Fisheries Polytechnic, Patavala, Kakinada District.
  4. Sri Hari Fishery Polytechnic, Pasupula, Kurnool District.
  5. Sri Venkateswara Fisheries Polytechnic, Takkolu, Kadapa district.

Diploma Course and duration of the Course:

The University has established a constituent Fisheries Polytechnic i.e. Sri MVKR Fisheries Polytechnic at Bhavadevarapalli in Krishna District and also accorded affiliation to 6 Private Fisheries Polytechnics to boost the Fisheries sector and to generate technically trained manpower.

ANDHRA PRDESH FISHERIES UNIVERSITY offers the following Diploma Programme

Academic Qualification:

  1. Candidate should have passed SSC Examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), A.P., Open School Society (APOSS) etc.
  2. Candidate should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh as defined in G.O.(P). No. 646, Education (W) Dept, dated. 10.07.1979 and its subsequent amendments.
  3. Candidates who appeared SSC or equivalent examination held in March/April2025, and whose results are yet to be declared can also apply.
  4. Candidates who have passed SSC in compartmental and who have either discontinued or failed in intermediate are also eligible for diploma admission.
  5. Candidate who had passed intermediate or pursuing higher studies are not eligible for admission into diploma course offered by APFU.

Age Limit:

Candidates who wish to seek admission into these courses shall have completed 15 years of age as on 31-08-2025 with an upper age limit of 22 years (Born in between 31.08.2003 and 31.08.2010).

Criteria for Selection:

The candidates will be selected based on merit in SSC or equivalent examination, Presidential order, region and social status. In case of tie, the age of the candidate shall be taken into consideration.

Selection Process:

  • Percent of marks/Total Marks obtained in SSC or its equivalent examination will be considered in the order of merit for Seat allotment.
  • In case of tie, the marks/grade point obtained first in Science and later Mathematics and Social, respectively will be taken into consideration for tie breaking.
  • In case if tie still continues, the age of the candidates will be taken into consideration and the older candidates will be given preference.

Note: ICSE students need to enter average of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) for science and two subjects (History & Civics; Geography) for social subject while entering the subject wise marks

Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to Rural Area:

Seventy five (75%) of the seats in diploma courses are reserved for the candidates who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal (Rural) areas and twenty five (25%) seats are reserved for the candidates who have studied in Municipal area.

Online Registration Fee:

The Online application and Counselling fee is Rs.800/- for General candidates (for SC/ST/PH candidates the fee is Rs.400/-).

  • The applicant has to select the Rupay Debit Card/UPI/Debit Card/Credit Card (Visa/Master Card)/Internet Banking option to pay the fee and follow the online instructions to complete the payment of the fee.
  • Processing charges of payment gateway as applicable are chargeable from the candidate only.
  • Once payment made, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Hence applicant should go through the information bulletin carefully regarding eligibility criteria before proceeding to the payment.
